Seth and I met towards the end of 2019, right around the holidays. Little did we know, a global pandemic was right around the corner. We successfully navigated dating through the pandemic and fell in love over puzzles, pandemic baking, and binge-watching entire seasons of shows.

Fast forward about a year and a half, and we decided homeownership was the next right move. Whilst house-hunting, Seth proposed, and we found what would become our home together. Below is one of the photos from our engagement photo shoot.

I began planning our wedding and we began renovating our home. With each ‘small’ project, a much larger one was lurking in the shadows. When I tried to rip down wallpaper in our den, some drywall crumbled away with the paper, revealing termite-eaten framing behind it.

Each project seemed to go in a similar fashion. What we thought we could paint over or just do a little facelift, a deeper problem was just beneath the surface.

My hope is that some of our trials and tribulations as homeowners resonate with someone else, or are at least comedic relief.

I’m going to do my best to take you along in this crazy journey we’ve been on together since April 2021. Our journey certainly isn’t over, perhaps it’s only just begun.
