I seem to get injured…
a lot
I am grateful that both of us aren’t accident-prone, it seems to just be me. Here’s one of my more infamous injuries…
I remember us removing strange pink marble edging from around our front flower bed in the Spring of 2021. I hated the look of it, and it just had to go. After Seth had ripped it out and put it by our curb, I decided it needed to be facing ‘pretty-side’ out so that passers-by could see that it was marble and, hopefully, take it off our hands. As I was leaving for work in the morning, I decided a quick flip around was a good idea. I ran out to the curb in my Birkenstock sandals and lifted one side of the marble slab. I just about had it flipped around when the other end slid off and landed on my unprotected big toe. Ouch! That’s going to leave a mark, I thought to myself. I looked down, and my toenail was cracked in half, down the middle. I ran upstairs, tried to bandage it as best I could, and drove to work with my left foot up on the dashboard, trying to stop the bleeding.

The pink marble edging can be seen around the flower bed with azaleas.

What my foot looked like once I got to work.

Time to visit the podiatrist...

Officially toenail-less...
